The Crafts Council’s Hey Clay! weekend is a national celebration of clay, giving everyone the chance to unleash their inner potter. Hey Clay! is a part of Get Creative Festival (11-19 May), a national campaign to support everyday creativity which is run by the Crafts Council.

Venture Arts are delighted to be involved again this year and to celebrate Hey Clay! 2019 we are launching an exhibition and a one off ceramic flower making workshop. This exhibition features the work of artists Louise Hewitt, Becky Hislop, Leslie Thompson and Terry Williams exploring the theme ‘Grow’. At the preview, Becky Hislop will also be demonstrating ceramic flower making techniques that they have used in their works for you to try your hand at.

‘Grow’ Slab-Built Plant Pot Workshop

Space are limited to 10 so booking is essential

Inspired by our ‘Grow’ exhibition, Venture Arts would like to invite you to create your own slab-built plant pot with slip decoration. During the workshop participants will be shown how to personalise their plant pot by learning various techniques including ceramic flower making with Becky Hislop.

All fired work will be available to collect two weeks after the event from Venture Arts.
