Unleash your inner potter at a free event as part of Get Creative.

Hey Clay! is a national celebration of clay which gives everyone the chance to unleash their inner potter at venues across the UK through free workshops and taster sessions.

Venture Arts are excited to be taking part and hosting an exhibition and a couple of events for you to get involved with for Hey Clay! an annual celebration of clay coinciding with BBC Arts’ Get Creative Festival!

HEY CLLAY! PRRIVATE VIEW

Venture Arts would like to invite visitors to come and see artwork by some of our most talented ceramicists. Artists on show will include Barry Anthony Finan and Horace Lindezey.

Some of our studio ceramicists will be present to tell you more about what inspires them and will be on hand to show you how to take part in the creation of a live ceramics piece entitled Do you eat wedding cake? Inspired by the artists themselves.

Participants will look at Finan’s unique use of text and be shown various techniques of applying text to a large slab of clay. The results will be a collaborative piece in which participants will be encouraged to answer one of Lindezey’s favourite questions… Do you eat wedding cake?

The exhibition will continue throughout April and will coincide with Autism Awareness Day on 2nd April.

Running alongside the HEY CLLAY! PRRIVATE VIEW exhibition, Venture Arts invites you to take part in the creation of a live art piece inspired by two of the featured artists, Horace Lindezey and Barry Finan entitled What did you have for breakfast?

COST | A £5 firing cost will be required per person.

For those who want to take something home, participants are invited to create their own unique breakfast bowl alongside some of our ceramicists and their tutors.
During the workshop participants will be shown how to create a ceramic bowl which they can personalise with text.

All fired work will be available to collect two week after the event from Venture Arts.
