Manifest Arts Festival is an artist-curated biennial festival giving visitors an insight into the wide-ranging contemporary art being produced in the North West region. In its third year, Manifest have increased in size and scope: 10 full days to explore over 50* events across some of the most unusual and exciting spaces of arts production and exhibition in Manchester, Salford, Bolton, and this year, Wigan.

Venture Arts are delighted to opening our studios with a day of unique artist led exhibitions and events as part of this years Manifest Arts Festival.

Insights

Studio 53 (53 Old Birley Street) will feature Insights, an exhibition and accompanying events that will showcase the work of several Venture Arts artists including Horace Lindezey, Terry Williams, Dominic Bennett and Leslie Thompson.

We are gathered round today….. Curated by Horace Lindezey

In our main studio (43 Old Birley street) we will be showing an exhibition curated by Horace Lindezey, an artist fascinated with weddings. Members of the public are welcomed to shake the dust off your old bridesmaid dress, wedding photos, album books, suits, dresses and ties to create a nostalgic temporary collective wedding archive of memories.

Alongside this exhibition, the artist will be interviewing local people about their wedding days and these conversations will inform and inspire new artworks (1 -4pm) Book your place HERE.

If that wasn’t enough there will also be art stalls selling work by local artists, a workshop inspired by the Insights exhibition and a photo booth inspired by artist Terry Williams.​
