Venture Arts: Fundraising and Events Officer

Line Manager: Director

Location: Venture Arts, Hulme, Manchester

Contract: Fixed-term, part time, 15 hours per week. Salary £23,000 per annum (pro rata)

Duration: 9 months (with possibility of extension depending on funding)


This is an exciting time to join Venture Arts, as we launch a series of fundraising appeals and events aimed at maximising individual giving.  


Venture Arts is a progressive visual arts charity based in Hulme, Manchester. We work alongside learning disabled artists to create and show exciting new art work. Our vision is to see learning disabled people play a valued and valuable role within arts and culture as artists, critics, audiences, advocates and workers.


We have a great opportunity to work with us to help grow our supporter base.  We have a strong case for support; we change lives for the better through the arts, and we have a second-to-none reputation in Manchester. Our participants have brilliant stories to tell about our work, and they produce fantastic artwork too.


We’re seeking a bright, resourceful and enthusiastic Fundraising and Events Officer to work alongside our Director, Business Development Officer and Comms and Marketing Officer.


The successful candidate will maintain and build our supporter base in the following ways:


  • Create tailored email appeals to existing and potential donors
  • Produce content for web, social media and marketing materials
  • Organise and attend 2 donor cultivation events
  • Attend other VA exhibitions/events and engage with audiences face-to-face to encourage giving
  • Identify and speak at external networking events
  • Ensure good relationships are maintained with donors through prompt acknowledgement and regular updates (supporter stewardship)
  • Use CRM (Donorfy) to manage donations and collect gift aid, organise donor data and produce reports (in line with GDPR)
  • Coordinate a challenge event (The Manchester Run)
  • Encourage and oversee other volunteer-led fundraising
  • Evaluate successes of events and appeals
  • Seek new opportunities for supporter development
