Bolton-based Barry Bennett Ltd – the UK’s leading provider of Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) assistive technology – has chosen Venture Arts as its Charity Partner.
In January 2021 Barry Bennett’s sister company, Bennett Workplace Solutions (BWS) was introduced to Venture Arts through its Manchester City Council contract. As part of its social value work in the city, it was keen to donate the proceeds of its staff ‘step-challenge’ to a Manchester charity with a strong synergy with its values.
Subsequently, to celebrate the company’s 50 years in business, they donated £5,000 to Venture Arts and commissioned and acquired a piece of artwork for their head office. Horace Lindezey’s commemorative blue plaque for Barry Bennett Ltd marks the dates of their landmark 50 years, with words chosen by Horace.
Antony Bennett, Managing Director, explains what makes the charity partnership work so well:
“We are thrilled to celebrate our 50-year anniversary with the help of our new charity partners, Venture Arts. Horace’s take on the commemorative blue plaques is amazing and his personalisation for us, ‘They are good people who help people’ is reflected in our core values, so I couldn’t be prouder. We have chosen to work with Venture Arts as their hard work enables their artists to achieve their potential, just as we help university students to achieve theirs in education. This is without doubt just the start of a very exciting journey.”
Since then, Barry Bennett staff joined Team Venture Arts to complete the Great Manchester Run 2021. They raised over £1,000 in sponsorship which the company then generously matched. This helped us to smash our overall ‘stretch-target’ of £5,000! We’re thrilled to work with the company and hope that our thriving partnership ‘keeps on running’ and developing for a long time to come.
