It Requires Getting Lost: Live!

This one-off live artist-led event takes place at Castlefield Gallery as part of the current exhibition It Requires Getting Lost. Head down to meet the exhibition’s commissioned artists – Venture Arts studio artist Malik Jama, Gregory Herbert and Jocelyn McGregor.

The afternoon will begin with a live presentation by Malik Jama, featuring projection mapping, digital drawing and animation, accompanied by a bespoke sound piece created especially for this event and not normally included in the exhibition. This will be followed by performers activating Jocelyn McGregor’s performance sculpture Karst Window(2025), and an introduction by Gregory Herbert to his work Well wishing, wishing well (2025), alongside an additional screening of a collaborative experimental 8mm short film made with gallery participants.

The event will conclude with a conversation bringing together the exhibiting artists with Sarah Boulter, Curator and Creative Producer at Venture Arts, and Matthew Pendergast, Head of Programmes at Castlefield Gallery, reflecting on the development of the exhibition and the collaborative process behind it.
