Venture Arts are finalists in the Manchester Culture Awards 2019
Venture Arts are thrilled to be finalists for the second year running in two categories:
Promotion of Talent and Leadership -
Venture Arts
Venture Arts is an inspiring organisation. They champion the perspectives and skills of learning disabled artists, through artistic development initiatives and leadership opportunities. Venture Arts also promote the talent of these artists across national and international platforms and champion conversations to develop accessibility and equality across society.
Inspiring Innovation - Venture Arts, Castlefield Gallery and the Whitworth
This partnership between Venture Arts,
Castlefield Gallery and
the Whitworth demonstrates how excellence and equality can be achieved through collaboration. To date it has resulted in ground-breaking residences for learning-disabled and emerging artists, professional development for artists, touring exhibitions, and a major symposium. The partnership advocates for a fairer and more inclusive art world; opening up new dialogues about art and who it is for.
We're also delighted that Venture Arts' Public Engagement Assistant, Amber Okpa-Stother is a finalist in
Promotion of Equality and Diversity.
Amber joined Venture Arts staff team as Public Engagement Assistant in 2018. She is a powerful advocate, working tirelessly to promote understanding of learning disability and make Manchester’s cultural places more inclusive. She was also recognised in the Dimensions Learning Disability and Autism Leaders list.
Venture Arts would like to thank everyone who nominated us!
