Last Monday (29th of January) we had the pleasure of having Castlefield Gallery all to ourselves. We were treated to a fantastic clay workshop delivered by Joe Hartley and Castlefield Gallery Curator Gass Pendergast where we made cutlery and utensils inspired by the artworks of current exhibition - Making a Life: The Peter Hodgson Retrospective, with Peter and friends.
Big thanks to Joe and Gass for a brilliant day. All the artists really enjoyed visiting the gallery. For some of the artists this was their first encounter with clay and they found it really fun and inspiring. Deborah already wants to make a wedding cake! We look forward to decorating and glazing the creations soon.
Joe Hartley is a Manchester based designer exploring old and new materials and processes. Amongst many of his creative ventures, Joe's projects include; The Pilcrow Pub, NOMA and Makers Dozen.
You can see more of Joe's projects and work on his website- https://joehartley.org/
See the exhibition before it closes on the 4th of February!
