Partnership Announcement: The Roberts Institute of Art, Castlefield Gallery and Venture Arts are joining forces in a new, exciting partnership.

Venture Arts artists Malik Jama, is taking part in this unique project, bringing together a group of artists for a residency, commission and an exhibition opening in the autumn.

Malik will be working alongside Gregory Herbert and Jocelyn McGregor — to develop new work as part of a residency programme that reflects on how we respond to and work creatively with our environment.

The residency will involve the artists spending time together exploring the David and Indrė Roberts Collection, as well as undertaking outdoor research. They will jointly select artworks from the Collection with the partners that resonate with their practices and become a point of reference for their newly commissioned work.

The residency will culminate in a group exhibition at Castlefield Gallery in Manchester, featuring the artists’ new bodies of work in dialogue with these selected pieces from the David and Indrė Roberts Collection.
