Hannah Buckley
As part of the Abundance exhibition, Hannah responded to artist Kathy Wilmot’s work, interpreting the artists drawings into a performance art piece.
Hannah Buckley is a dancer and choreographer based in Leeds. Her practice as an artist is rooted in processes that ask questions about dance, embodiment, health and wellbeing. She is interested in collaboration and co-creation with other people, participants and communities. She believes in the tension and skill of crafting art works whilst simultaneously letting things emerge.Abundance Hannah responded to Kathy Wilmot’s work, bringing the lines of Kathy’s work into her own body to inspire her movement.
In 2021 Hannah began a diploma training as a ‘Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist’, studying with the Institute for Integrative Bodywork & Movement Therapy. This training is weaving itself into all elements of her creative practice. As a performer Hannah has worked nationally and internationally as part of festivals such as Manchester International Festival, the Venice Biennale and Transform Festival. Hannah’s work has been supported by organisations such as Arts Council England, Yorkshire Dance, Dance4 and The Place. As part ofYou can find out more about Hannah and her work here.
