Niamh Spawton
Niamh is one of Venture Arts’ youngest artists and has been attending our Young People’s Art Club for a number of years.
Inspired by animals, nature and the world around her, Niamh creates expressive works that explore the textures, colours and forms found within the natural environment. Working across print, illustration and paint — including both watercolour and acrylic — her practice combines careful observation with a playful and imaginative approach to image-making.
Niamh has previously exhibited work at Manchester Museum and Lowry, and 2026 marks her first year exhibiting as part of the Manchester Open at HOME.
“In my artwork I like to learn about new animals and then paint them so other people can learn about them too. I enjoy discovering animals I have never heard of and then creating paintings about them. I think paint gives texture, I liked how it feels, it feels like 3D and not flat”.
