Manchester Open 2026

This artwork, by Maddi Lingard of Venture Arts, is being shown as part of the Manchester Open 2026 exhibition. It is an artwork comprising of nine squares with each square telling an element of a love story of a romance between two young people.

An artwork that is being displayed as part of Manchester Open 2026. The work shows a photograph of a black and white cat on the right hand side and an illustration of a black and white cat on the left hand side. There is also a paragraph of text underneath which tells a story about the cat.

Here mouth is open and you can see her teeth and she has bright blue eyes and lilac coloured hair. The picture is on a blue background and there is an arc of differently coloured neon shapes around her.

The Manchester Open returns for summer 2026 – a major celebration of creativity from across Greater Manchester.

Taking place every two years, the exhibition brings together over 400 artworks by artists at all stages of their careers, from first-time exhibitors to established professionals. Selected by a panel of art experts and community representatives, the show spans a wide range of disciplines including painting, photography, sculpture, textiles and digital work.

We’re thrilled that 11 Venture Arts artists have been selected for this year’s exhibition, with work featured across the programme.

A brilliant snapshot of the region’s creative energy, the Manchester Open is well worth a visit.
