Manchester International Festival | Michael Beard

Venture Arts artist, Michael Beard, is one of the headline artists at this year’s Manchester International Festival, with a solo exhibition at The Lab in Aviva Studios. 

Michael’s vibrant practice is full of movement and energy, with the exhibition becoming a welcoming space for creative collaboration between visual art, music and dance. Michael will create a new large-scale work throughout the course of the festival. On select days, The Lab will transform into a performance space and audiences will be able to see Beard creating his artwork, alongside dancers from one of Manchester’s most original dance companies, Company Chameleon and chamber musicians from Manchester Camerata. See how they respond to each other’s work in these experimental, creative sessions.

This year’s MIF programme is titled ‘Dream Differently’ and will take over Aviva Studios and spread across the city and beyond from 3rd – 20th July. MIF invites you to open the door to new possibilities, brighter futures and utopian spaces.

With new works from both international and homegrown artists, this is our opportunity to celebrate Manchester as a global hub of creativity and experience a programme of groundbreaking world premieres.
