Help Venture Arts fly high - join our Christmas eco balloon race!

We're taking part in a a brand new virtual balloon race to raise a target of £1,500 for studio equipment.

We're delighted to be GMCC's Manchester charity partner for 2020 and we are taking advantage of a the Chamber's new concept in fundraising developed by a Chamber member in Bolton.   The race which starts on Christmas Day in Lapland - won’t actually take place in real life though! Instead it is all run using the very latest technology, up to the minute weather information and intelligent software with participants buying a “virtual” balloon to take part. This means that in an age when environmental issues are high up on people’s concerns this race leaves no trace that it ever took place.   The race has prizes for the winners (£500) and if you're supporting Venture Arts and you win the race, you could also win a limited edition print, The Amur Tiger by VA artist Leslie Thompson. All proceeds from buying a balloon will go to the charities involved.

It's very easy to join the race in just 3 easy steps:

1.

Head to our charity page, register and buy your balloon for £3 (or several, if you want to increase your chance to win a fabulous prize). It's a fun way to raise funds for Venture Arts whilst giving yourself a chance to win the top prize of £500 or runner's up prizes.

2.

Personalise and decorate your balloon and add what you think is just the right amount of helium to make it soar!

3.

Track your balloon! Once the eco-race takes off on Christmas day, you'll be able to follow your balloon’s simulated flight patterns, based on real-life weather conditions (using an advanced computer modelling programme linked to Google maps and a commercial weather data supplier, Aeris).   Don't delay; up, up and away - go ecoracing.co
