NEW CITY ART TRAIL | 50 Windows of Creativity

Three Venture Arts artists featured in '50 Windows of Creativity' - Manchester's new city art trail.

  Wild in Art, the people who brought us 'Bee in the City' in 2018, are back this autumn with a new art trail. Manchester is host to '50 Windows of Creativity', a showcase of the work of artists and makers displayed in a series of windows, venues, businesses and spaces across the city centre.   Venture Arts artists Jennie Franklin, Ahmed Mohammed and Barry Anthony Finan have all had work selected, which is on display in the windows of the Royal Northern College of Music on Oxford Road.     From fine art and photography to ceramics, crafts, mosaics and murals the windows of the city with host an array of work by well-known and emerging artists and collectives – all with a connection to Greater Manchester.   All the pieces on display will also be available to buy from the artist or maker when the project culminates with an auction on 17th December 2020. There will be a number of Barry Anthony Finan's ceramic bricks available in the auction, so don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of this stunning work created last year at the British Ceramics Biennial Exhibition.     Barry was recognised as one of the UK’s best ceramic artists when he was shortlisted for the prestigious British Ceramics Biennial Award 2019 (the first learning disabled artist to receive this accolade). Barry worked in residence at the magnificent China Hall at the former Spode Factory, Stoke-on-Trent, to produce a monumental installation, writing in his characteristic style – about his hopes and dreams – onto almost six hundred unfired bricks, a selection of which are on display as part of 50 Windows of Creativity.
