You Don’t Love Yourself?
Malik Jama will exhibit work at SOUP’s 12th birthday celebrations.
Manchester’s grassroots music venue SOUP Manchester turns 12 this month and is inviting everyone to enjoy its 4-day party from 18–21 August. They’re celebrating with a programme of live music, DJs, visual and performance art and music production and promotion workshops.
As part of the milestone, SOUP has teamed up with new art collective LAC to curate/host the opening evening on Thu 18 Aug. Opening event: 6-11pm (Bar & DJ 6pm – 2am). FREE.
Venture Arts artist, Malik Jama will be part of the Opening Party line-up with his spectacularly immersive projection mapping installation. Live music entertainment will include performances by Raheel Khan, Sockethead and DJ, Ora.
Malik’s work will also feature in the ‘You Don’t Love Yourself?’ exhibition at SOUP. It opens on the 18th and continues until 21 Aug: 12-5pm (free entry). Other featured artists include Parham Ghalamdar, Amrit Randhawa, Emii Alrai and Adnan Naqvi.
SOUP is also celebrating opening a second basement room and becoming fully accessible for wheelchair and other users across two floors, as they look to create a more inclusive environment for the decade ahead.
The opening night is free to attend, with no need to book.
