Shannon Ratcliffe

Shannon Ratcliffe creates vibrant, graphic compositions using a diverse vocabulary of symbols, letters, signs and visual motifs. Drawing freely from his imagination, Shannon creates a range of imagery – from volcanoes and witches to portraits of fellow creatives. He also frequently incorporates figures from popular cinema, like Superman and Godzilla.

Alongside these line-driven works, Shannon also experiments with gel printing and enjoys introducing layers of rich, saturated colour and expressive marks into his work. The textures created during the printing process create a striking contrast next to the precision of his drawn lines, adding a further dimension to his work.

Combining all these elements and techniques, Shannon’s visual style is bold, playful and energetic, fusing graphic clarity with spontaneity, gesture and colour.
