Maddi Lingard

Working across photography, embroidery, painting and illustration, Maddi creates expressive, deeply personal works inspired by memory, relationships and popular culture. Drawing on experiences from childhood, close family connections and her long-term relationship, her practice often combines image and text, with handwritten poetry appearing throughout the work as a reflection on love and relationships.

Influenced by film, performance and musical theatre – particularly classics such as The Sound of Music and The Little Mermaid – Maddi’s work embraces storytelling, emotion and imagination. Inspiration also comes from the creative movement and performance-based classes she attends, bringing a sense of rhythm, drama and playfulness to her multidisciplinary practice.
