To mark Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we’re joining with our friends at The Whitworth to deliver relaxed, neurodivergent-friendly tours exploring a selection of artworks from the Delaine Le Bas exhibition. Led by Artist in Residence Sally Hirst, the tours are open to everyone and offer a calm, welcoming way to experience the exhibition at an unhurried pace.
Sally will use clear, easy-to-understand language, Easy Read materials and provide a basic audio description of each artwork, supporting visitors with visual impairments. Ear defenders, ear plugs and sensory bags are available on request.
These events are free, with advance booking recommended. A small number of spaces will also be available on the day on a first-come, first-served basis.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week (16-22 March 2026) is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and recognises the many skills and talents of neurodivergent individuals, celebrating our differences and empowering every individual.
Sally Hirst is a neurodivergent and disabled textile artist, ceramicist and poet based at Venture Arts. She also has a love of history and retelling stories of ordinary people from the past. She is passionate about accessibility, and this is important in her art practice.
