From Venice With Love: Dishing Out Memories

We’re thrilled that two of our incredible Venture Arts artists, Emelia Hewitt and Michael Nash, will be exhibiting work in a very special, one-night-only event at The Lowry: From Venice With Love: Dishing Out Memories, taking place on Tuesday 3rd June 2024.

This unique exhibition brings together artists who took part in the British Council’s Venice Biennale Fellowship Programme, an initiative supporting emerging creatives to develop their practice while engaging with one of the world’s most significant contemporary art festivals. Emelia and Michael were awarded fellowships in 2024, spending time in Venice throughout October as part of the programme.

Along with the other fellowship artists they spent a month supporting John Akomfrah’s exhibition, Listening All Night To The Rain, at the British Pavilion. Now, back in Greater Manchester, they will reflect on their experiences and present new work inspired by this unique opportunity. Expect an exciting mix of talks, performances and artistic presentations, offering intimate insights into their journeys and the creative discoveries they made during their time in Venice.

We’re so proud to see Emelia and Michael’s work celebrated alongside other fellowship artists in this exciting showcase.
