A5 Hardcover Photography Art Book; Fragments of a Floating City; by Emelia Hewitt

This art book contains a collection of Emelia Hewitt's beautiful photographs of Venice.

In 2024, Emelia was awarded a fellowship on the British Council's Venice Biennale Fellowship Programme - an initiative supporting emerging creatives to develop their practice while engaging with one of the world’s most significant contemporary art festivals.

Emelia's introduction to her book:

In October 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to be a fellow at the British Pavilion during the 60th Venice Biennale; where I spent a month working at the Pavilion and exploring my art. It was there that I fell in love with the city and its unique way of life that is shaped by water.

Working at the Pavilion I was inspired by John Akomfrah's Canto's series 'Listening All Night to the Rain' and have created my own Venice based Canto series. This book of cantos captures my fascination with the water and the feeling of a city that is both timeless and constantly shifting. Through these photographs, I hope to share the beauty of the city and the quieter moments of everyday life.
