Framed Postcard; A Duty Science Moongirl
Leslie Thompson has been attending Venture Arts studios for over twenty years. He has a highly developed drawing style, drawing both from memory and through live observational drawings. Leslie depicts scenes from popular culture, mostly from the seventies and eighties, and his drawings are often punctuated with memories from film, music and TV.
Leslie Thompson launched his second solo show in 2020 with, In The Making Since a Hundred of Years.
The exhibition was the culmination of a lockdown exploration of the history of black comic book superheroes (1935 – 2020), with this artwork being a part of that collection.

Leslie has been based at Venture Arts studios for over thirty years, is widely exhibited and features in significant collections both in the UK and overseas.
